EU TalentOn
is a Competition.

Initiated, funded and co-created by the European Commission, EU TalentOn is one of the biggest brainstorming events happening in the European City of Science Katowice 2024.

In a special arena, young researchers representing all disciplines, aged 21-35, face each other in international teams, sharing their amazing ideas.

Get started

The EU TalentOn call for proposals starts in April. By June, experts will select at least 100 participants with the highest scores.

Get prepared

Until August, selected participants will get to know each other better and be divided into teams to take part in workshops.

03

Ready for finals!

In September, teams of young scientists will meet in Katowice to face each other during the final-stage hackathon.

Prizes

You can win a share of the €75,000 prize pool!

The best teams will be awarded in four areas:

. main prize awarded by the grand jury
. first prize per mission arena
. second prize per mission arena
. Special prize – EU  TalentOn Community Award

Each prize will be divided equally among each person in the winning team.

5 Mission Arenas

The Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change focuses on supporting EU regions, cities and local authorities in their efforts to build resilience against the impacts of climate change.

The Mission on Cancer focuses on improving the lives of more than 3 million people by 2030 through prevention, cure and for those affected by cancer including their families, to live longer and better.

The Mission on Restore our Ocean and Waters aims to protect and restore the health of our ocean and waters through research and innovation, citizen engagement and blue investments.

Cities play a pivotal role in achieving climate neutrality by 2050. Since climate mitigation is heavily dependent on urban action, we need to support cities in accelerating their green and digital transformation.

The main goal of the Mission A Soil Deal for Europe is to establish 100 living labs and lighthouses to lead the transition towards healthy soils by 2030.
